EMO IS FOR LOVERS Joins Forces with UPRAWR Mental Health Foundation for a Special Tribute Event

We've had the privilege of collaborating on some truly unforgettable projects over the years. From giving away tickets to shows of our favorite bands and interviewing incredible artists, to securing sponsorships for events like Emo Party Season 2, each collaboration has held a special place in our hearts.

However, our latest collaboration stands out as particularly meaningful. We were approached by UPRAWR Mental Health Foundation, a local alternative club in the UK known for their commitment to mental health support among young adults. Their initiative to provide free counseling services through their mental health foundation deeply resonated with us. We've been inspired by their efforts to foster a kinder and more supportive environment within the scene.

UPRAWR caught our attention since many months ago with their innovative event posters, to unhinged memes, to their fundraising efforts, such as auctioning signed drum skins from bands to support their counselors. Now, they're embarking on something even more ambitious: the 1000 Lights project.

This initiative, dedicated in tribute to Chester Bennington, aims to recruit, and bring together WHOPPING 1000 musicians to perform a special cover show of Linkin Park. The event will take place at a venue in Birmingham, where Chester himself played his final show. Among the 1000 members already include prominent members of bands such as Bullet For My Valentine, As December Falls, Funeral For a Friend and many more.

Scheduled for August 18th, the 1000 Lights project not only celebrates Chester's legacy but also raises funds to support UPRAWR's vital counseling services. It's a call to action for musicians and fans alike to come together and make a difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health challenges.

When UPRAWR approached us to share their project and help recruit additional singers and promote ticket sales, we were honored to join in. Being part of such a meaningful event—one that honors an icon who profoundly impacted our lives—is truly humbling. It's a powerful reminder of why we do what we do: to create a more loving and supportive community within our scene.

This collaboration serves as both an inspiration and a challenge for us to continue advocating for kindness and inclusivity. It's a reminder to never be complacent and to keep striving to make a positive difference.

If you're in the UK area or want to get involved in this incredible project, we encourage you to check out the 1000 Lights event and consider participating either by signing up, purchasing the concert ticket or making donations. Together, let's shine a light on mental health awareness and pay tribute to a musician whose legacy continues to resonate deeply with us all. Join us in making a difference and spreading the warmth within our community.
